Our Educational Specialist (EdS) in School Psychology program is dedicated to training school psychologists to provide comprehensive psychological services in urban, multicultural environments, fostering children's academic and emotional growth.
We strive to develop professionals who recognize and respect individual, cultural, and language diversity while safeguarding the well-being of those they assist.
Requiring at least 70 graduate credit hours for the Education Specialist degree, our NASP-approved program follows a scientist-practitioner approach, equipping students to become culturally aware school psychologists prepared to support children from diverse ethnic and racial backgrounds across educational and mental health settings. This is achieved by examining students' learning, behavior, and development through an ecological lens to guide interventions that enhance both individual and institutional success. Practitioners utilize research-based methods, data-driven decisions, and advocacy for equity to address professional challenges and assess service outcomes.
