The Master of Medical Science in Anesthesiology at Emory University School of Medicine is a graduate-level medical education program. This intensive program welcomes qualified candidates seeking comprehensive academic and hands-on training to develop expertise in anesthesia practice. The curriculum launches each June, combining classroom instruction with clinical rotations over 27 consecutive months, culminating in August graduation after seven semesters. Applicants must possess a bachelor's degree with foundational premedical coursework. Upon completing the program, graduates earn a Master of Medical Science degree from Emory University. After passing the Anesthesiologist Assistant Certification Exam, alumni can join anesthesia care teams as vital practitioner members under anesthesiologist supervision.
A Bachelors degree from a regionally accredited college or university in the United States or Canada, including above average performance in required premed prerequisite coursework. A “C” or better is required in all prerequisites courses. Online science programs and pre-med prerequisite courses completed at institutions accredited by one of the following accreditation agencies will be accepted.
Minimum GPA 2.8 or better – GPA of 3.1 or better is preferred (Competitive GPA 3.4)
Applicants must complete all prerequisite courses prior to matriculation, with a cumulative GPA of 3.1 or higher. It is required that applicants receive a grade of C or better in all required prerequisite courses.
