The Bachelor of Science in Rehabilitative Health Sciences (RHSC-BS) equips students for advanced education in medical fields such as medicine, occupational therapy, physical therapy, prosthetics and orthotics, speech-language pathology, audiology, nutrition, and other allied health disciplines. This program also serves as a pathway for those seeking entry-level roles in rehabilitation or healthcare, or for students holding an Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree in rehabilitation assistance (PTA, OTA, or SLPA) who wish to earn a bachelor's degree. Grounded in the World Health Organization's International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health framework, the curriculum prioritizes patient-centered, interprofessional care while integrating core collaborative practice competencies. With an interprofessional approach, the RHSC-BS program encourages interaction among students across ETSU's health science colleges. The 49-credit major includes 150 clinical observation hours and maintains an open enrollment policy, allowing all interested students to join without competitive admission requirements.
