Seton Hall University provides an accelerated dual degree program that combines a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. This innovative six-year (33) curriculum starts in the first undergraduate year, allowing biology/physical therapy majors to experience both a liberal arts education and hands-on clinical training.
Upon admission to this combined degree pathway, students receive their Biology bachelor's degree after four years and earn their Physical Therapy doctorate upon finishing the sixth year.
Physical therapists are medical professionals who evaluate and treat individuals with movement limitations, whether from injuries, illnesses, or other health conditions. Through comprehensive assessments of patients across all age groups, these specialists identify movement restrictions and create customized treatment plans to enhance mobility, alleviate discomfort, and prevent physical decline. Their therapeutic approaches may include specialized exercises, functional rehabilitation, hands-on techniques, mobility aids, therapeutic modalities, and patient instruction.
