The Master of Arts (MA) in International Studies is a challenging two-year program that combines diverse academic disciplines, emphasizing social analysis, research methods, and practical skills for modern global issues. Our world faces multifaceted challenges including environmental emergencies, rising authoritarian regimes, the shortcomings of neoliberal globalization, frequent economic instability, and unchecked technological advancement. Marginalized communities continue to endure prejudice, aggression, and institutionalized inequality. Traditional economic and international relations theories have proven inadequate in addressing these critical concerns. INT DePaul equips students with analytical frameworks to navigate this intricate global landscape, question established paradigms, and develop innovative approaches. The MA program provides adaptable interdisciplinary study options alongside instruction in critical theory, culminating in either a research thesis, internship evaluation, or original project based on student-selected topics. Participants examine the foundational principles and historical contexts of complex problems, building their interpretations through critical social theories, cultural studies, international political economy, and hands-on internship experiences.
