The Associate of Arts degree is a multidisciplinary program offering both specialized exploration of specific ethnic communities and classes that analyze the societal frameworks influencing human relationships. Those enrolled in the A.A. in Intercultural Studies develop enhanced cultural awareness, intercultural proficiency, and social justice understanding. This curriculum prepares graduates to navigate diverse global and multicultural environments with greater confidence and capability.
After completing the program, students will be able to:
Evaluate social and political systems through the lenses of race, class, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, and identity to demonstrate intercultural understanding in various settings
Communicate the significance, lived experiences, and achievements of historically underrepresented communities
Apply workplace and community interaction skills with awareness of personal and collective dynamics shaped by political, economic, and cultural backgrounds
