The German Studies program at Dartmouth provides a diverse curriculum catering to varied interests. Our graduates have built successful careers across multiple sectors including business, engineering, finance, law, journalism, public service, healthcare, and scientific fields, alongside creative pursuits like arts, literature, philosophy, music, and cinema. Even students outside the major often find German language skills valuable in disciplines such as architecture, economics, political science, history, engineering, and technology. Regardless of career paths, learners consistently discover that German Studies enhances both their professional development and personal growth within a liberal arts framework.
Students must have high school equivalent to USA. A strong GPA in high school is one indicator that you will continue to do well in college.
Most successful applicants score above 100 on the TOEFL exam or above 7 on IELTS.
