Columbia's Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) aims to cultivate future leaders in biomedical research. The program provides comprehensive training in both clinical medicine and scientific research. Columbia's academic setting encourages groundbreaking research while developing the ability to apply scientific discoveries to patient care. The MSTP has successfully recruited an exceptional cohort of motivated students. We facilitate extensive collaboration between our gifted trainees and their research/clinical advisors. Our distinguished faculty engage in diverse research initiatives and clinical work. Training encompasses numerous disciplines - from core biomedical fields to Chemistry, Bioengineering, Biomedical Informatics, Epidemiology, Cancer Biology, Computational and Systems Biology, Stem Cell Biology, Genomics, and Precision Medicine. Students enjoy exceptional prospects for interdisciplinary study.
In order to be eligible for admission, international applicants must hold, or be in the process of obtaining, the equivalent of a U.S. baccalaureate degree.
