The Department of Art and Art History provides a Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) degree with two specialized tracks: Art Education and Studio concentrations, both recognized as professional qualifications.
The B.F.A. program follows a structured curriculum across concentrations, with some variations between them. First-year students take foundational courses covering form and observation, time and structure, color theory, materials and spatial concepts, along with global art history. In their second year, students sample different concentration courses while gaining hands-on experience in specialized studio classrooms featuring spacious, well-equipped work areas for creative experimentation. Upperclassmen concentrate on advanced studies within their selected discipline, enrolling in one upper-level course per semester. Art education students at this stage also undertake coursework in teaching methodologies.
