Our intensive degree program offers students the chance to learn from distinguished faculty in both music performance and music education. Participants engage in various performance opportunities across different ensemble sizes, while each academic year incorporates hands-on teaching observations and practice. The program culminates in a full-semester student teaching placement with experienced mentor educators. Music education majors receive comprehensive training covering all K-12 music disciplines (general, vocal, and instrumental at both elementary and secondary levels), equipping them for diverse career prospects. Alumni from our program currently teach at numerous outstanding public and private institutions throughout Northeast Ohio.
If you have successfully completed your high school degree (12 years of primary and secondary education), you are considered an undergraduate student at CSU.
