Recognizing prevention as crucial for both personal wellness and controlling medical costs has spurred interest in health education and promotion across diverse settings like clinics, gyms, organizations, and schools. Health science professionals receive specialized training to guide individuals toward healthier lifestyles that enhance life quality. The School of Health Sciences provides undergraduate programs designed to develop experts who can: 1) serve as fitness and exercise professionals in preventive and recovery programs, 2) work as health educators and wellness advocates in public sectors, 3) specialize in substance abuse prevention, intervention, and treatment education, and 4) manage operations in various healthcare environments. Graduate programs include: Health Service Administration (MSA), Exercise Physiology (MS), Public Health (MPH), Health Administration (MHA), and Doctor of Health Administration. Central Michigan University's exercise science-health fitness program focuses on equipping students to educate others, blending nutrition and health sciences to create future professionals in health fitness, personal training, or athletic conditioning.
