Western Michigan University's exercise science program equips students for careers in physical fitness, health promotion, cardiac rehabilitation, as well as fitness evaluation and exercise planning. This program serves as an ideal foundation for those pursuing advanced studies in chiropractic, graduate school, or professional programs like physical therapy, occupational therapy, or medicine. WMU exercise science students must fulfill a 450-hour internship after completing their coursework, serving as the final requirement before graduation. Internships can be completed at any approved location with qualified supervisors who provide relevant exercise science experiences aligned with career objectives.
