Aspiring professionals in exercise science and strength and conditioning should fulfill the requirements for the Exercise Science Strength & Conditioning Specialization within the kinesiology major. This focused track provides outstanding preparation for those pursuing careers as fitness instructors, exercise professionals, or strength coaches. The specialization also offers ideal groundwork for students planning advanced studies in Exercise Science fields like exercise physiology, kinesiology, biomechanics, or measurement/evaluation. Graduates earning a BS in Kinesiology with this specialization will gain expertise in structural kinesiology, exercise physiology, biomechanics, sports psychology, and measurement techniques.
The Kinesiology Department at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi aims to develop skilled professionals in athletic training, exercise science, physical education, sports management, pre-allied health fields, and sports conditioning for South Texas and beyond. Faculty members dedicate themselves to preparing students for the workforce through innovative teaching methods, active research involvement, and service to both academic and professional communities.
Kinesiology bachelor's degree candidates can choose from specializations in EC-12 Physical Education Certification, Exercise Science-Strength & Conditioning, or Pre-Allied Health. All students must complete at least 42 semester credit hours in University Core Courses and a minimum of 23 credit hours in Kinesiology Major Requirements.
