The Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art grants Doctor of Musical Arts (D.M.A.) degrees to accomplished students who demonstrate exceptional professional achievement in composition, teaching, performance, or sacred music. Prospective students must first gain admission to the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art's graduate program. Candidates should possess significant performance and instructional experience following completion of a master's degree in piano or chamber music performance from an accredited institution. As the leading Catholic institution for musical education in the U.S., the Benjamin T. Rome School of Music, Drama, and Art enjoys global acclaim for continuing the Church's timeless tradition of enriching lives through musical scholarship and performance. The school encourages applications from qualified individuals of strong character, intellect, dedication, and artistic ability, embracing diversity across race, religion, national origin, ethnicity, and physical ability.
Based on the results of the entrance requirements and examinations, the advisory committee, in conference with the student, will arrange a program of study of 61 to 72 hours beyond the master's degree.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Application requirements and deadlines vary by the individual graduate program. Call the department or search / consult the individual programs for full details.
