CCM's competitive program provides exceptional clarinet instruction. Students enjoy learning from the school's distinguished faculty of professional performers who are actively engaged in the music world.
As part of their degree program, all clarinet students gain the distinctive chance to perform with their talented peers in CCM's top-tier ensembles. These include two symphony orchestras: the CCM Philharmonia and Concert Orchestra, two wind ensembles: the CCM Wind Orchestra and Wind Ensemble, plus two chamber groups: the CCM Chamber Players and Chamber Winds. CCM operates as a college within the University of Cincinnati, a leading undergraduate and graduate research university with over 40,000 students. The dynamic relationship between CCM and its comprehensive public university setting shapes the college's distinctive identity and mission: to cultivate well-rounded artists and scholars prepared for global careers in the arts.
CCM alumni pursue diverse paths across the performing arts and entertainment fields. Graduates perform as soloists, engage in chamber music careers, and secure positions with ensembles worldwide, including major orchestras, opera companies, military bands, jazz groups, and beyond. They're also prepared for careers as private instructors or for further advanced study.
