The Integrated BSMS (Bachelor of Science in Engineering and Master of Science) Program in Civil Engineering is designed for ambitious students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE) at CWRU who aim to earn an advanced degree. Candidates should apply to the BSMS program after finishing 75 semester hours of coursework and before reaching senior standing (completion of 90 semester hours). Typically, students submit their applications in the sixth semester of undergraduate studies, ensuring they have at least two semesters of BSE requirements left. For further information, applicants should speak with their academic advisor or the departmental BSMS program coordinator, Prof. Pollino. Once admitted, students can take up to nine credit hours in their senior year that fulfill both BSE and MS degree requirements, with these courses identified in the BSMS application. Additionally, approved 300-level or higher courses completed before earning the BSE degree, beyond the nine double-counted hours, may count toward the MS degree if they meet university, school, and department standards. Students must request approval to apply such coursework to their MS requirements, following the School of Graduate Studies guidelines.
