The Latin American and Latino/a Studies program offers an interdisciplinary curriculum drawing from various academic fields to provide students with extensive knowledge of Latin America's and Latino/a communities' historical, social, and cultural dimensions. Through courses in social sciences, literature, performing arts, and Spanish language, students gain holistic insights into both historical and modern challenges, along with explorations of identity, cultural legacy, and artistic creativity. Graduates of this program will acquire expertise in Latin American history, geography, cultural practices, societal concerns, and innovative developments. They will learn to navigate the program's integrative, cross-disciplinary framework while employing diverse analytical viewpoints from the Humanities and Social Sciences. Additionally, students will develop strong written and verbal communication abilities that demonstrate Spanish language proficiency, analytical reasoning, and a comparative methodology for intercultural comprehension.
