The Master of Science in Counseling is a specialized program designed to equip students for a rewarding career in counseling. With its focus on postmodern approaches and dedication to social justice, the program cultivates counselors capable of addressing multifaceted challenges across diverse environments. This degree provides two specialization tracks: Professional Counseling and School Counseling, each comprising 60 units as independent programs. Graduates of either concentration may pursue licensure as Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (LPCC) through the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. The School Counseling track additionally qualifies students for California's Pupil Personnel Services School Counselor Credential (PPS), enabling them to work in K-12 education. For those seeking broader qualifications, the program allows combining both concentrations (totaling 72 units) since they share foundational coursework.
