The Master of Science in Education program offers a Counseling major with two focus areas: school counseling (5042) and clinical mental health counseling (5041). The school counseling track equips future counselors to assist educators, school staff, and families in meeting students' academic, career planning, and personal development needs. Graduates will be qualified to work in educational settings ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade. This Counseling program meets the requirements for School Counseling Licensure as established by Tennessee's Division of Teacher Education and Accreditation.
The Clinical Mental Health Counseling specialization trains professionals to handle diverse wellness, prevention, and mental health issues in clinical settings.
