The Master of Arts in Education with a focus on Integrated STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) Teaching equips educators to enhance their instructional methods and expertise in STEM subjects (aligning with Common Core State Standards for Mathematics and Next Generation Science Standards). It helps them better serve diverse student populations (particularly those requiring special education), foster teamwork in learning environments, utilize various knowledge resources, and maintain an equity-centered approach. The program offers two distinct pathways that may be pursued individually or together: 1) earning an M.A. in Education and/or 2) obtaining a California teaching credential with specialization options (either single-subject certification in math/science OR education specialist certification for mild to moderate disabilities).
