These programs expand upon students' undergraduate studies in history or related social science disciplines. What sets them apart is their robust practical training component and well-structured course sequence, moving from foundational concepts and instructional techniques to creating a professional teaching portfolio.
During the initial year's fall and spring terms, participants spend three full days each week in classrooms: three weeks of observation followed by ten weeks of student teaching in the same setting.
In the second academic year's fall and spring semesters, engagement intensifies to five full days weekly: two weeks of observation preceding twelve weeks of student teaching, all within the same classroom environment.
