Faculty expertise spans diverse fields such as: gender and sexuality studies, racial and ethnic identity, socioeconomic class, literary analysis, cinematic arts, architectural expression, regional American studies, mass media, environmental humanities, countercultural movements, ethnographic research, and transnational cultural influences. This M.A. curriculum equips students to: critically assess historical cultural developments, apply advanced theoretical frameworks to cultural artifacts, conduct sophisticated interdisciplinary research, and articulate compelling arguments. Program alumni frequently pursue doctoral studies, while others enter professions in secondary or community college education, academic administration, information science, communications, corporate sectors, or public service organizations.
