Fresno State's Ed.D. program in educational leadership aligns with the CSU system's initiative to provide professional practice doctoral degrees in this field. Tailored for working professionals advancing into leadership roles in K-12 schools, districts, or community colleges, this 60-unit curriculum can be finished in three years through full-time enrollment.
Students can choose between two learning formats: traditional in-person classes or online instruction. Both options allow specialization in either K-12 Educational Leadership or Community College/Higher Education Leadership.
The program equips graduates with essential competencies to: Master theoretical and applied knowledge with research methodologies, Perform practical research in educational settings, Address the needs of diverse student populations
Develop effective educational policies and practices, Lead initiatives for educational improvement, Perform comprehensive educational assessments and evaluations
Applicants must meet the general admission requirements for California State University, Fresno. These include a master's degree from an accredited institution, a grade point average of at least 3.0 in upper-division undergraduate and master's degree coursework, and evidence of receipt of scores from the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) General Test. Applicants must also demonstrate high potential for educational leadership and scholarly achievement through professional experience, academic accomplishment, and professional recommendations.
English language Score: TOEFL – 80 iBT, or IELTS – 6.5, or Pearson’s Test of English - 53, or iTEP – 4.5. The deadline for application to the program is in March.
