Doctoral programs are tailored to each student, developed through joint efforts between the candidate, primary supervisor, and dissertation committee. These academic plans usually focus on cultivating specialized knowledge in a chosen research field. EACS aims to foster analytical thinking that tackles significant challenges in education, instruction, and management, thereby strengthening partnerships between academics and professional circles. The department's faculty includes both researchers and professionals dedicated to delivering a comprehensive curriculum that instills Ph.D. candidates with the intellectual, practical, and ethical competencies required to become guardians of their field (as defined by the Carnegie Foundation).

Evidence of (or potential for) state/regional influence. This can be demonstrated by presentations at state/regional conferences, committee member involvement (professional service) for a state/regional association, state/regional association membership, etc.
Evidence of (or potential for) national influence. This may be demonstrated by presentations at national conferences, committee member involvement (professional service) for a national association, national professional association membership, etc.
Two (2) academic writing samples authored by the applicant - i.e., thesis, substantive research paper, policy brief, white paper, conference paper, funding proposal/grant application narrative, etc. Note: Professional/administrative writing samples may be substituted if no academic writing samples are available.
Three Recommendation letters - provided by people who are familiar with your academic and/or professional qualifications.
