Specializations include drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture, ceramics, or interdisciplinary methods that may blend various media and digital tools. By connecting classical and modern artistic approaches, the program equips students to develop and maintain a socially engaged practice that addresses evolving societal concerns and technological influences on culture. This degree appeals to aspiring professional artists, those pursuing arts-related careers, or candidates preparing for graduate studies.
The Art Department prioritizes its Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) Program, a professional credential enabling students to gain advanced specialization through focused training in particular art or design disciplines—preparing them for thriving careers in visual arts and design fields. The B.F.A. is ideal for students aiming for graduate programs or seeking professional-level competencies. Completing the major requires 70 departmental units within chosen B.F.A. concentrations. Admission to the Bachelor of Fine Arts program simply involves declaring as a B.F.A. student with a selected concentration.
