The English B.A. program at the university features three specialized tracks: literature, creative writing, and English language studies. Degree candidates must fulfill both the university's general requirements outlined in the catalog and the department's specific criteria detailed here.
Upon completing their English B.A. at Cal State East Bay, graduates will possess the ability to:
critically evaluate diverse literary texts across various genres,
produce well-structured and persuasive written work,
exhibit familiarity with significant English literary works, including multicultural literature,
apply theoretical frameworks to analyze texts,
perform scholarly research in English studies while exploring relationships between literature and societal concerns.
