Centered on globalization, diversity, and community involvement, the Hispanic and Latin American Languages, Literatures and Linguistics program delivers a cross-disciplinary, multilingual exploration of Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking societies. It incorporates modern viewpoints from linguistics, literature, cinema, performing arts, social work, and professional fields like healthcare, law, business, education, and media. This major enables students to develop fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese, two of the most widely spoken languages across the U.S., the Americas, and globally. The curriculum includes language, cultural studies, linguistics, and literary analysis, alongside specialized courses for professional applications in medicine, law, commerce, and other vocational settings.
Students must have completed a secondary and college or university credentials from non-U.S. institutions.
The university will require the following minimum scores on the redesigned SAT: SAT Reading = 24, Writing and Language = 25 and Math = 24. On the ACT, a minimum score of 19 on the Reading section and 19 on the Math section.
Minimum scores requirements are as follows:
