Students interested in exploring specific topics independently are encouraged to undertake an honors project during their senior year. These projects can originate from Junior Seminar coursework or other classes. Possible formats include traditional theses, films, websites, or exhibitions, all requiring a written analytical component. The process begins with AMST 1800, the Honors Seminar, taken in junior year's second semester, where students draft proposals and secure advisors. This spring semester course covers research methods, presentation formats, and counts toward the concentration's seminar requirements. Those who opt out of the honors track after completing the seminar still receive credit that applies toward their concentration.
