For those aspiring to lead in creating and sustaining society's infrastructure, a civil engineering major could be an ideal choice. Bradley's curriculum not only provides a comprehensive technical foundation but also equips you for professional roles in structural engineering, water resources, environmental engineering, transportation, highway and pavement design, and geotechnical fields.
You'll develop a solid grounding in mathematics, natural sciences, engineering principles, and leadership while studying structures, water resources, environmental engineering, transportation design, and similar areas. The program culminates in a year-long senior design project, where you'll tackle actual engineering challenges under the guidance of seasoned civil engineering faculty. A construction management minor is also offered.
Upon graduation, your accomplishments might involve:
Conducting research with faculty mentorship and presenting findings at national and international conferences
Special chances to connect with industry experts through seminars and networking functions
Professional growth and community involvement with groups like Bridge-Pal, Habitat for Humanity, and Illinois River Sweep
Competing against engineering students nationwide at events such as the ASCE's annual concrete canoe and steel bridge contests
