The Master of Science (MS) program in Materials Science & Engineering (MSE) is designed for undergraduate seniors seeking advanced studies in this field.
The College of Engineering provides flexible master's programs that allow students to customize their education through interdisciplinary focuses and practical experiences. Master's program length varies based on each student's academic goals, with part-time enrollment available.
All MSE MS candidates begin as non-thesis students. These students fulfill a practicum requirement through either an approved course or project. While the non-thesis MS can be finished in two semesters, many students take additional time. The program offers four specialization areas: i) biomaterials, ii) electronic/photonic materials, iii) energy and environmental materials, or iv) nanomaterials.
