This three-year Dental Public Health program equips dentists for leadership positions in policy, academia, and government sectors. To graduate, participants must complete all coursework, implement a public health field project, pass an oral examination, and defend an original dissertation. The curriculum offers comprehensive training in epidemiology, biostatistics, healthcare administration, financial management, sociocultural health factors, preventive dentistry, and health education. Participants attend classes at both Boston University's Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine and the School of Public Health. The program includes research opportunities with potential for professional journal publications. Designed for dentists without a CEPH-accredited MPH degree, this 36-month DScD/CAGS combination program leads to board certification eligibility in dental public health. It fulfills American Board of Dental Public Health requirements for both qualifying and certifying examinations. Applications are open to international dental graduates.
