The Indianapolis Colts, St. Louis Cardinals, Women's Tennis Association, and the All State Sugar Bowl are just a few of the many major sports organizations, marketing agencies, and managements firms graduates of our Sport Administration major have gone on to work for. These types of employers need driven, committed people who can blend their understanding of athletics with business acumen and creative instinctall while keeping up with a fast-paced, fast-growing business. The best way for you to learn all this is to actually do it. That's why our program emphasizes a hands-on approach.Starting as early as the introductory course for this major, youll work closely with Ball State Athletics, giving you direct insight into the operations of a real NCAA Division I organization. That type of experience will continue throughout your time at Ball State. Just a few of the highlights include completing at least two outcome-based projects for regional sport organizations and organizing various events on campus to raise money for local charitable organizations. Our bachelor of science (BS) in sport administration blends courses in general business with those unique to our own field, along with the University Core Curriculum required of all Ball State students. You will also need to complete one of four possible minors and a 400-hour internship (12 credit hours). The degree is designed so that you can complete it in four years if you take classes full time. Completion time will vary if you attend part time. We encourage you to speak with your advisor about your workload and your timeframe goals for completing your degree.
