American University's MA in Ethics, Peace, and Human Rights (EPHR) merges ethical studies with global policy, equipping you to become an ethical leader. This collaborative program between the Department of Philosophy and Religion in the College of Arts and Sciences and the School for International Service addresses critical global issues through an ethical lens.
Through interdisciplinary training, you'll learn to apply ethical principles and policy evaluation to intricate global challenges. The curriculum establishes expertise in international relations, moral philosophy, human rights, and peace studies before allowing specialization in one of six focus areas. You'll enhance your capacity to address warfare, violence, human rights, equity, environmental concerns, and conflict resolution through distinctive courses that bridge philosophical ethics with real-world implementation while aligning policy examination with modern social issues.
