The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences provides a Master of Public Health in Social and Behavioral Sciences (MPH-SBS), a professional degree designed to equip students with skills for creating, executing, and assessing community-based public health initiatives with an inclusive approach. This program trains future public health professionals to recognize population needs, develop targeted interventions, and guarantee equitable health outcomes for diverse groups. It emphasizes understanding behavioral, social, and cultural influences on health disparities across different life stages, while also covering community health dynamics, health communication strategies, program evaluation, and health education methods. The curriculum supports research and practical applications that foster healthier individuals and communities through effective public health programs. Prospective students can select either on-campus or online study options, both following identical competency-focused coursework. The distinctions lie solely in delivery methods: The on-campus option suits those seeking face-to-face instruction, campus engagement, and local Philadelphia fieldwork opportunities arranged by our placement team. Flexible full-time or part-time enrollment is available, with primarily in-person evening classes spanning traditional 16-week semesters, though some hybrid or online course options may be offered.
