Our History and Global Sustainable Development (BASc) program lets you channel your enthusiasm for History into addressing today's pressing global issues by combining it with Global Sustainable Development (GSD) studies.
What causes global wealth inequality? How have migrations of people, resources, capital, and ideas influenced contemporary challenges? What impact did colonial empires have? These are the core questions you'll explore in this combined program.
You'll examine and analyze historical events, specializing in either Early Modern (1500-1750) or Modern history (1750-present). Simultaneously, you'll use historical research methods to tackle current problems like climate change, social inequality, and food sustainability.
This interdisciplinary method fosters diverse viewpoints, creative problem-solving, and openness to different perspectives from fellow students.
