You can pursue either a PhD or MPhil degree in Law. A PhD in Law typically involves three years of full-time study, whereas an MPhil requires one year of full-time commitment. The Strathclyde Law School accommodates part-time PhD and MPhil candidates as well. Part-time research programs offer professionals the chance to explore fields relevant to their careers. These flexible options allow students to earn postgraduate qualifications like a PhD or MPhil while maintaining employment. The Strathclyde Centre for Law, Crime and Justice (CLCJ) integrates specialized knowledge across law, criminal justice, and interdisciplinary fields including economics, politics, sociology, psychology, and information science. CLCJ is renowned for its pioneering cross-disciplinary research and offers a distinctive Master's program in Criminal Justice & Penal Change. The center fosters a vibrant community of exceptional postgraduate researchers. Through academic work, instruction, and community outreach, CLCJ members influence policy-making, public discussions, and professional methodologies.
For postgraduate studies, we require a minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5 or equivalent (the test must be taken within two years of programme start date)
