Our professional doctorate program offers an exceptional combination of academic learning, hands-on clinical training, and research opportunities, preparing you to become a licensed Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). A key focus throughout the program is examining how societal factors influence mental health. We emphasize awareness and engagement with evolving public health needs, social challenges, and economic conditions affecting communities. Classroom instruction directly connects to your clinical placements and research projects, with theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and professional growth reinforced through dedicated reflective practice. The British Psychological Society (BPS) has recognized our program for its outstanding reputation among NHS partners and service users, who actively contribute to curriculum design and delivery. Graduates qualify for HCPC registration and BPS Clinical Psychology division membership. This collaborative program involves Staffordshire University, NHS organizations, and practicing psychologists across Shropshire and Staffordshire.
