Our Psychology PhD/MPhil program allows you to pursue research across the wide range of subjects essential for advancing our comprehension of psychological processes. Key areas include (though not restricted to): hearing science and auditory cognition, cognitive neuroscience, dementia studies, forensic psychology, health psychology, applying psychological theories to develop therapeutic interventions, family and interpersonal dynamics, speech/language development and disorders, memory systems, mental health conditions, neuroscience including aphasia research, and the study of perception, decision-making, and motor control.

Qualification Requirements

We require applicants to hold, or be about to obtain, an Upper Second class Honours degree (or overseas equivalent) in a related subject area for entry to a PhD programme. A Lower Second class Honours degree may be considered if applicants also hold a Master's degree with a Merit classification. We require a minimum IELTS score of 7.0 overall or TOEFL iBT 100. For the writing component, we expect that you have achieved a minimum of 7.0 (IELTS) or 25 (iBT).
