Our Psychology and Child Development program serves as an excellent foundation for careers involving youth in educational, clinical psychology, or care-related fields. Emphasizing practical application and evidence-based methods, you'll develop expertise in child psychology and wellbeing. The optional placement year provides hands-on experience to enhance future career prospects. The program's comprehensive nature allows you to maintain career flexibility while cultivating specialized knowledge, which informs your final year research project. Additional opportunities include research assistantships collaborating with faculty on active studies.
You'll utilize our state-of-the-art Science Center resources, featuring cognitive research stations, psychophysiology tools, and simulation technology. Our child development lab showcases ongoing family-participant research, with community outreach initiatives covering diverse topics like screen time effects, creativity measurement, and psychological approaches to prevent childhood dog bites.
