This program offers advanced study in Modern Languages (Arabic and Spanish) and English, focusing on research-driven learning where students explore how knowledge evolves and progresses. Participants will develop skills in independent study, fostering qualities like curiosity, precision, and academic discipline. Spanning 60 months, it leads to a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 540 credits (typically 120 per year). The initial two years combine mandatory program-specific courses with elective options (potentially including cross-faculty modules). Subsequent years deliver specialized, research-oriented coursework tailored to the program. The first two years blend core subjects with diverse electives (sometimes from other faculties), while later years focus on advanced, program-specific research modules.
