This program offers an in-depth exploration of Modern Languages (Arabic and Spanish) and International Relations through research-focused study, enabling students to comprehend how knowledge evolves and progresses. Participants will develop a passion for self-directed learning characterized by curiosity, honesty, precision, and academic discipline. Spanning 48 months, this course culminates in a Master of Arts (Honours) degree. Like all St Andrews programs, it consists of credit-based modules, requiring students to complete 480 credits total—typically 120 per academic year. The initial two years focus on mandatory program-specific courses alongside elective options (sometimes including interdisciplinary Faculty selections). The final years emphasize advanced, research-oriented study through specialized curriculum modules. The first two years combine core program requirements with diverse elective choices (potentially spanning multiple Faculties), while subsequent years concentrate on tailored, research-driven coursework.
