Lancaster's Modern Languages program is offered through the Department of Languages and Cultures. This undergraduate course allows students to pursue three languages simultaneously, with Chinese, French, German, or Spanish available as primary options and Italian as a secondary choice. The curriculum features an international study year abroad and provides extensive flexibility in both language selection and cultural studies modules that enhance linguistic immersion.
Beyond linguistic proficiency, this program fosters valuable interpersonal, cross-cultural, analytical, and adaptable skills applicable to diverse professional fields. Alumni have secured positions across multiple sectors including finance, technology, public administration, event coordination, media, publishing, market research, and international trade, alongside traditional paths in education and translation both domestically and internationally.
