Medical students at St Andrews enjoy a distinctive pathway, earning a BSc Honours in Medicine after three years before transferring to affiliated institutions to finish their medical training and obtain an MBChB/MBBS. This program delivers a strong scientific base for clinical work, fosters ethical awareness and critical thinking, and offers valuable early clinical exposure within a nurturing academic setting. The BSc (Hons) in Medicine equips you with comprehensive understanding of medical science fundamentals while cultivating competencies aligned with modern medical practice. Applicants can choose from three pathways (Scotland, England, or No Preference) for the A100 program based on where they plan to complete their final three years toward an MB ChB/MBBS degree. International students will continue their studies at the University of Manchester.
The program spans three years of full-time study, followed by three additional years at a partner medical school to achieve the MBChB/MBBS qualification.
