Through our global collaboration with St. George’s University School of Medicine in Grenada (SGU), we're delighted to offer you the chance to pursue a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree while completing up to two years of study at Northumbria University in Newcastle.
Our 5-Year Medical Degree Pathway (5MDP) is designed for high school graduates with excellent science grades. You'll spend your first two years in Newcastle, beginning with pre-clinical studies before advancing to basic sciences. After this foundation, you'll transition to SGU's True Blue campus in Grenada for your second year of basic sciences training. Students meeting the requirements will earn a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (BMedSci) from Northumbria University. You can then choose to undertake up to two years of clinical rotations in either the UK or US, depending on visa regulations. The MD degree is awarded upon program completion.
The SGUNU International Medical Pathway cultivates medical expertise, clinical abilities, and research capabilities while exposing you to diverse healthcare systems worldwide. Our Newcastle-based programs mirror SGU's Grenada curriculum while offering distinct healthcare experiences.
With over four decades of excellence in medical education, St. George's University has trained more than 17,000 physicians from 140+ countries, making significant contributions to global healthcare.
SGU's MD program provides international career opportunities, holding accreditations comparable to standards set by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education, which oversees US and Canadian medical schools.
