During your initial year, you'll receive comprehensive instruction in biomedical sciences, starting with exploring the cellular and molecular foundations of human diseases alongside fundamental biochemistry, cell biology, pathology, and microbiology. The second year focuses on molecular genetics and developing expertise in recombinant DNA techniques, essential for modern laboratory research. Our interactive eBiolabs platform helps you prepare for hands-on lab sessions during these first two years. In your final year, you'll select from specialized modules and complete either a research project or scientific dissertation, working within our Biomedical Sciences Building, teaching labs, or hospital facilities. These opportunities showcase our research excellence in cancer biology, stem cell research, regenerative medicine, and immunology. Additionally, qualified students may transfer to our four-year BSc program with an industrial placement, available after securing a position during year two.
