At Nottingham, Translation Studies and Linguistics form the core of our Modern Languages program. Our research spans Dutch, French, German, Portuguese, Russian, Serbian, Croatian, Slovene, Spanish, as well as Italian, Arabic, and Chinese. We specialize in diverse areas including historical linguistics, sociolinguistics, applied linguistics, translation, interpretation, and language teaching methodologies. Our work is organized through the Centre for Translation and Comparative Cultural Studies and conducted in partnership with our extensive Language Centre.
