The Master's in Interpreting equips you for a career primarily as a conference interpreter serving international organizations and private sector clients. Available language combinations encompass English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Russian, and Spanish. The program provides valuable practical experience through internships, facility tours, and simulated interpreting sessions at prestigious institutions like the European Commission, the Court of Justice of the European Union, the International Maritime Organization, and United Nations offices in Geneva and Vienna. While ideal for translators and language professionals entering the field, it also enhances the skills of experienced interpreters lacking formal certification.
This practice-oriented MA program combines theoretical foundations with hands-on training, specifically designed to develop professional interpreters. Students explore both theoretical concepts and practical applications across various interpreting modalities, including public service interpreting, conference interpreting, and remote interpreting (via telephone and video conferencing).
Our state-of-the-art interpreting facilities feature six soundproof booths meeting AIIC (International Association of Conference Interpreters) standards, all equipped with digital audio and video recording capabilities. These professional-grade booths mirror the technology used at the European Commission in Brussels, complete with broadband connectivity and audiovisual recording equipment. Additionally, students access our virtual learning platform for course materials, documentary resources, conference presentations, and recordings of practice sessions.
