Our PhD/MPhil Cardiovascular Sciences program allows you to pursue a research initiative aimed at advancing knowledge in Cardiovascular Sciences. Cardiovascular disorders remain leading contributors to death and illness across both industrialized and developing nations. Our investigations focus on five primary areas: cardiovascular genetics and development, experimental cardiology, vascular biology/hypertension, stroke research, and clinical cardiovascular studies. We employ a comprehensive 'bench-to-bedside' translational methodology to examine the fundamental processes governing cardiovascular system function in healthy and diseased states. This approach encompasses a broad range of investigations, from clinical trials to animal models (both small and large-scale), organ and tissue analysis, cellular research, and molecular-level studies. Collaborating in our specialized facilities creates a dynamic, innovative research atmosphere.
