The Perception, Action, and Cognition team is an interdisciplinary research collective focused on exploring human interactions with both virtual and real-world settings. Our work centers on investigating core questions about the connections between the systems governing human behavior, specifically: Skilled sensorimotor coordination (such as operating vehicles, performing surgery, writing, or catching objects), Cognitive processes (including judgment, short-term memory, and skill acquisition). Analyzing intricate and evolving systems demands diverse methodologies to tackle these research challenges. We place particular emphasis on understanding visual perception's role in facilitating expert interactions with our surroundings, like high-speed driving. Our investigations employ various approaches, primarily utilizing simulated environments while monitoring actions including hand, eye, and head motions.
