Immunology is a rapidly evolving discipline that influences current and emerging challenges across biomedical and biological sciences. Our BSc Immunology with Industrial/Professional Experience program allows you to study the elements, principles, and functions of a healthy immune system, including how these components work together to provide effective defense against pathogens. This degree includes a year-long professional placement, giving you valuable work experience that enhances your employability after graduation. You'll explore how the immune system differentiates between self and foreign entities, adapts its responses to various infectious threats, and varies its reactions depending on infection sites like the skin, digestive tract, or respiratory system. Beyond healthy immune function, the curriculum examines cases of immune dysfunction such as allergies, autoimmune disorders, and immunodeficiency. The program also covers modern and emerging applications of immunology in diagnostics and treatments, including immunotherapy for cancer, vaccine development, and managing transplant rejection.
